is big oil controlling the auto industry

do the arab countries and big oil have an influence in the fuel  economy of  vehichles?  we have basically made  no gains in that category since the internal combustion  engine  was first introduced.  i am hearing  many reports of people  who are getting  40-50%  higher  gas milage and much higher power  w/their vehicles only to have the auto companies buy them back or take them back and claim they were suppose to be shipped somewhere else. talking with one mechanic, he said a lady brought in an extended cab pick-up because it had so much power it was laying rubber all the time. she had to drive it in 4 wheel drive all the time just too keep it from doing it. she was getting about 25 mpg with something that would average about 16 mpg. a industry expert said it was the computer module. if you took it out of that vehicle and  put   the normal  computer in, the truck would go back to getting 16 mpg w/less hp. and likewise if you took that computer module and put it into a different vehicle that vehicle would get higher milage also. they claim 1/1000 is doing this and they can't figure it out. ya right. another business had ordered multiple vehicles and they did the same thing. the auto company took them back and said they were suppose to be shipped to a different country. maybe the oil industry is paying the auto industry a kickback to keep their oil sales high. if one auto companie developes a more effecient engine it wont take long til the others have the same thing and their is a zero sum gain. if you have someone who is experiencing this on their new vehicle, tell them their is nothing wrong with it and don't bring it back to the dealership, they won't get it back. i will pay top dollar for this vehicle
